More About Architecture, Standards, and Platforms

Architecture, Standards & Platform provides enterprise technology leadership for digital services across the organization. The vertical brings together Architecture, Design, Platform Engineering, and Internal Development to guide modernization efforts, establish shared standards, and develop the technology foundations that support delivery across agencies.

The department focuses on solving technology challenges that span the enterprise. This includes shaping application and enterprise architecture, advancing accessibility and design standards, strengthening software delivery practices, and developing shared tools and platforms used by teams across government. The vertical also helps define the technical direction and standards that guide how digital services are designed, built, and delivered across state government.

By combining innovation with practical standards and shared engineering capabilities, Architecture, Standards & Platform helps ensure digital services are reliable, accessible, maintainable, and able to evolve as technology and public needs change.

Innovation & Impact

  • Modernizing Digital Services: We help guide the modernization of legacy systems and digital services so agencies can deliver more reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Accessible and Consistent Digital Experiences: Through Pelican, the Statewide Design System, we help ensure digital services follow consistent design patterns and accessibility standards so residents encounter clearer, easier-to-use government services.
  • Enterprise Architecture Leadership: We provide architectural direction and shared standards that help teams make better technology decisions and build systems that work together across agencies.
  • Strengthening Software Delivery Across Government: We support modern engineering practices, automation, and shared technology platforms that improve how development teams build, deploy, and operate software.
  • Reusable Engineering Solutions: We develop shared libraries, templates, and technical patterns that help teams start projects faster and solve common challenges in a consistent way.
  • Internal Tools that Support Technology Operations: We build internal applications and utilities that help teams manage services, improve workflows, and support the delivery of technology across government.

Working with OTS to implement Pitney Bowes Shipping 360 with the PitneyShip Cube has completely transformed LDH logistics operations. The combination of the intuitive Shipping 360 cloud platform and the all-in-one thermal printer/scale (Cube) has drastically reduced our shipping prep time and eliminated inaccuracies in package weights. With the PitneyShip Cube, we no longer need expensive ink since thermal printing makes label creation fast and seamless. Furthermore, Shipping 360 gives us a 360-degree view of all our shipping across various carriers, allowing us to control costs, access better rates, and streamline our overall workflow. I highly recommend this solution to modernize your shipping processes.
